Career Advice on Animation from the Industry Experts
An expert talk on 2D/3D Animation was organised at Arena Chandigarh Campus on August 23, 2017, which was attended by our students, aspirants & animation enthusiasts.
Established in 2009, Digitoonz is an animation production studio in Noida, a city in the National Capital Region of New Delhi, India and having business office in Delaware, USA. Digitoonz is one of the largest rapidly growing Animation Studio from India.
Vikas Kumar, the CEO of Digitoonz shared the journey of his life with students. How he started out after passing from Arena Multimedia and taking up a Rs. 1500 job. And how after a few years started his own studio with 5 people. Now the studio employs 300 animators working on Dreamworks and other leading Studios’ projects.
Syed Nadim Akhtar, his partner and cofounder of Digitoonz, also shared his experiences of the last decade in building up the studio from scratch. He mentioned that Animators are in huge demand across the globe.
Mantosh Kumar, the Head of Department of Animation at Digitoonz, was inducted into the company right in the start and had grown from a lower level to lead the team in due course. He discussed about how difficult it has become to find and retain good animators.
Cristian Jezdic, CEO of BeQ Entertainment, Italy, has been working with leading Indian Studios including Digitoonz, to deliver high value projects in coproduction arrangements with Indian Studios. He explained the students on how to make their career in Animation. He sees a larger portion of work coming to India in future.
