ASIFA International Animation Day Ignites Creative Sparks Across Chandigarh Campuses
Chandigarh, Jan 2025 – Two major campuses in Chandigarh came alive with creativity and curiosity as students celebrated ASIFA’s International Animation Day (IAD) with back-to-back events at PGGC Sector 46 and Government Polytechnic for Women, Sector 10.
Organized in collaboration with SXILL, a leading design and animation institute, the sessions brought together students, faculty, and industry experts for an inspiring dive into the world of animation, storytelling, and digital careers.
At the core of the event were two influential voices in the animation industry — Mangat Chauhan, the senior animation supervisor behind Motu Patlu, and Vineet Raj Kapoor, an evangelist for ASIFA and Founder of SXILL. While Mangat explained the inner workings of the animation pipeline, Vineet took the students on a journey through design thinking, storytelling, and career planning.

The crowd, especially at GPW-10, where over 400 students gathered, was deeply engaged — asking questions about careers ranging from mimicry and storywriting to animation and UX design. Vineet responded by offering real-world advice and practical roadmaps, showing how students can turn dreams into professions.
“Every student has a unique strength — our job is to help them discover it and channel it into the right career path,” Vineet shared.
The event also revisited the origins and global mission of ASIFA, which aims to promote animation as a career choice and art form worldwide. These outreach efforts by ASIFA Chandigarh and SXILL continue to light the spark of creativity in young minds and expand awareness about exciting opportunities in the creative industry.
