International Workshop in Game Design
Professor (Game Design) Jerome Bodin from LISAA France held a Live Workshop at Arena Animation Sector 17 from 2-5 August 2016.
This workshop covered the topics starting from understanding Game Design upto creating a GDD (Game Design Document).
The 1st Day was generic, covering general topics in Game Design and led onto the advanced areas dealing specifically with Game Design Document related areas.
The next 2 days, Jerome spoke about the advanced areas of Game Design and helped students create their own Game Design Documents around their ideas.
The Target: Learning to write a game design document, with the goal of possibly having every student involved with a proper document at the end of the 3 sessions.
The workshop covered basics of game design and game analysis, with an focus on a classification and analysis method close to and inspired by the MDA approach. Let’s call it “Introduction to game design and analysis”.
Jerome Bodin, is a Game Design Lecturer at LISAA, a top ranked Game Design School of France. He did his Bachelors in Game Design at Teeside University, UK in 2006, and Masters in Video Games at ENJIM, currently rated as the best Game Design School in France.
