The 9th bi-annual LOS ANGELES COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL and SCREENPLAY COMPETITION (LACFF) aims to launch careers by providing a platform for emerging comedic talent to promote their works to industry heavyweights and Los Angeles audiences. As the largest film and live comedy festival in the US, LACFF has featured over 1,700 performers and 300 films from Los Angeles and around the world.
With its rapidly expanding presence in Los Angeles, LACFF has brought out the industry in force. Past attendees include reps from ABC, CBS, NBC, HBO, FOX TV, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Comedy Central, Comedy Central Films, E! Entertainment, MTV, Warner Bros., Worldwide Pants, Sony, Oxygen, Spike TV, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, CAA, UTA, ICM, Paradigm, William Morris Endeavor, and more production companies, agents, managers, and casting directors.
LACFF delivers big with networking opportunities and parties, packed screenings and shows, press coverage, a thoughtfully programmed lineup of comedic works, and useful industry workshops. With an emphasis on discovering great comedic talent from around the world, LACFF celebrates the artistry of live comedy and comedic content creators making short films, TV pilots, web series, feature films, animation, and music videos. With its recently-added Screenplay Competition awarding cash, prizes, a table read, and industry recognition to the winners in all three categories, comedic screenwriters can now get in on the action, too. Finalist scripts have been requested by WME, UTA, APA, CAA, Paradigm, and more.
