ANNUAL REPORT
I stand before you humbled by the events of last 20 years.
It goes through my eyes in a flash each and every student each and every seminar and lecture each and every placement However, i stand before you, some of the most talented students this country has seen, to present, the events and happening of just one of these years – 2015-16
Infrastructure –
The first event. We added a 3D Printer to our setup. This allowed us to look directly into the eyes of the future
We started this year by adding XEON Systems to our Lab, creating one of the most advanced Academic Labs of the country
Academics Excellence (Award)
The year started with a Bang as VFS (Vancouver film school) officials visited the campus (the only animation campus they visited in India) and offered scholarships to our students.
We won the Academic Excellence Award once again thanks to our faculty as well as our students, who I believe are one of the best this country produces. Arena 17 has been consistent in Winning Awards for GIVING WORTH (Academic, Placements) rather than RECEIVING WORTH (Turnover, Cash Flow). Consistency in beliefs has made us achieve this Award everytime. Regular high scorer on Audits, the centre focuses on creating an Ecosystem that allows talent to flourish and do well. There are many centres who may boast a higher turnover, but they also end in higher dropouts, since Academic Excellence is the only thing that stands out in the long run and that is where ARENA 17 stands out and 20 Years is a pretty long run.
Mentoring:
We had 15 International Seminars, 5 International Workshops, this year so far and this is just a start. 2 foreign artists visited the centre to give workshops, and many more will do so during this year itself. i feel embarrassed when artists (especially from US, Canada and South America) keep awake at night to help our students. I wish that the students take note of this. A loud applause for those artist so loud that they hear it. The probable artists who’d visit us includes Alex Kennedy, Kaitlyn Jackson, Lisa Kirshman, Prof. Jerome Bodin, Maria Eugine, Samantha Kanner…
We also gave seminars to students of various schools across the city as well as many colleges. We also organized workshops at Chitkara University, Gurukul Vidyapeeth, University Business School, Fine Arts College Chandigarh, Women’s Polytechnic, Dev Samaj College, Teacher Training and Research Institute of India, GCG 11 among others
We continue to advise and guide students across the country through Shiksha.com as well as our blogs. We have just extend it to guide and mentor students across the world through various groups that we are in charge of.
Excellent Placements

Our students got picked by some of the best companies in Chandigarh as well as the top studios of India, including DQ, Hyderabad, Xentrix, Bangalore, MEL Mumbai, Philm Studio Pune, Eeksauras, Mumbai, as well as Photographix, Net Solutions, Xeemu, Sebiz. However, things are now getting high with jobs coming in everyday yesterday during the event there was a call from Genpact for recruiting freshers in Graphic Design. Incidentally the caller was a Senior executive of Genpact, Barinder Singh who has been our student from 20 years ago. He was also asking about Ajay Kaushik, a student of 2006 as he was about to finalize him!
Achievement Awards
Our students won Maximum of 8 Awards at Creative Minds. No other centre in city got even a single nomination. But that doesn’t mean they will not try this year. So students do I have a promise to win 10 Awards this year? My faculty will you get us there?

Entered it’s 4th year in 2016. It’s a great event created by your own faculty and students.
That said, Arena 17 and it’s students, have won time and again awards of all kinds. Best Placements, Best Centre, Best Systems, Best Website, Best Enrollments, Creative Minds Awards. The work of our students wins awards and contest, and it shines through their work on the Akash Tablet, on Adobe Products, Ericsson Products, Mobikwik, Fashionforyou, CISCO graphics, and many other works that they contribute to the society. One of our Team Member won the first prize of Rs. 1 lacs in a UI Design Contest by Micromax.
We celebrated our 20th Foundation Day, with a NEVER BEFORE SEMINAR by DANIELE TOSTI (SR. TECHNICAL DIRECTOR for AVATAR MOVIE) on 29 April, 2016.And we decided to absorb the entire cost of the seminar and make it free for our students to celebrate this occasion.
We have always strived to create an ecosystem of learning rather than just teaching. We want to teach you learning. Even after doing all this, I must take a pause to apologize to all students whose expectations we did not meet. Whose dreams were bigger than this, the institute they joined. We invite them to discuss with us, their dreams and we’ll help them locate a top college of the world where they may belong.
Future plans
Our plans for future? Well we always set higher aims. We want to start this year, by holding a mentoring program with an international mentor in VFX (VFX Internship). The mentor is expected to arrive at Chandigarh around 15 May. he is expected to be here for a month and mentor our students. Any students who are interested?
Our International Faculty would arrive soon after. We are expecting Kaitlyn Jackson and Lisa Kirschman to be a part of our team.
We wish to hold a world level discussion amongst students of various design and animation colleges of the world. Hope this dream comes true.
Later we wish to hold a world level panel discussion amongst the faculty of the top colleges of the world. (pause) this and more dreams wont let us sleep.
